Studio Soundtrack 013: Patience; No Lyrics, Just Sounds

February 23, 2015 Posted by Niki Farfel Articles, Resource

Studio Soundtrack features five songs selected by a student at Waterloo Architecture.

I’m Niki Farfel and music is my expression. So here is my soundtrack – don’t just hear it, feel it.

Peace and love.

Some may say that a song is complete if it has both lyrics and sounds. Songs containing only sounds are often viewed as incomplete – maybe even plain. In this instance, lyrics clearly don’t matter, and hopefully you will agree when hearing the beauty that is composed of merely sounds.

So be patient. This time, no lyrics, just sounds.

1. PRYE – THROWING SNOW

Ross Tones [a.k.a Throwing Snow] is a low-key electronic DJ from the UK. This song is one from his many albums, “Too Polite”.

2. NOVA – BURIAL & FOUR TET

Kieran Hebden [a.k.a Fourt Tet] and William Emmanuel Bevan [a.k.a Burial] – both electronic DJs from the UK – collaborate to make this beautiful song.

3. BEATHE SOMETHING, STELLAR STAR – FLYING LOTUS

Steven Ellison [ a.k.a Flying Lotus] is an experimental producer, electronic DJ and rapper from LA.

4.  IT WAS ALL A DREAM – ZOMBY

Justin Moulds [a.k.a Zomby] is a British, electronic DJ whose identity was unknown for the first five years of his career.

5. NO NAME [ KILLEKILL 012] – EOMAC

Ian McDonnell [a.k.a EOMAC] is a producer and DJ from Dublin, Ireland that composes amazing electronic beats.

‘Till next time

Studio Soundtrack features five songs selected by a student at Waterloo Architecture. This week, Caelin Schneider takes us west to Seattle. Things may have settled down after the heyday of the 90's, but the Seattle sound is as alive and well as ever. When it is overcast 200 days a year, you spend a lot of time sitting inside making music.
