NAME OF LOCATION – Brief description, insight or recommendation.

TARTINE BAKERY – Order a croissant and sit in the sunshine out on 18th St.

PHILZ COFFEE – Order a Turkish, black.

BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE – Bring home a pound of Giant Steps.

CITY BEER & SHOTWELL’S BAR – Beer is huge is San Francisco. These places don’t have the best atmosphere, but they do have the best selection, at least from what I found. You should stop in and try one of their sour variety ales. Go around 6 or 7 to beat the rush. They both have a dive bar feel to them, but don’t let it fool you.

LA PALMA MEXICAN FOOD – This place would be questionable as a tourist attraction, but I’m throwing it on here. You need to eat a San Francisco Burrito at some point, but order the huarache from here. This place makes their own corn tortillas and everything.

RAINBOW GROCERY – Honestly you just need to go here to understand the Californian heathy lifestyle. Walk around and do your groceries.

BLOWFISH SUSHI, GODZILLA SUSHI – Order sake. What they say about west coast fish is true.

SALEMERIA SANDWICH SHOP – Amazing back patio to sit and eat.

BAKKER BEACH – The Surf is good here. You’re in the right city to learn.

DE-YOUNG MUSEUM

THE FISHERMAN’S WHARF – Super touristy, but equally awesome. Try some bread bowl clam chowder. Walk through the piers. Pier 4 1/2 has a phenomenal view.

GOLDEN GATE – Do you have a bike? Bike the Golden Gate, it is fabulous. Stop loads and take in the view. When you get to the other side, bike up through the hills for a few hours. It’s Fantastic. Bring a picnic and go off the trail to watch the sunset over the hills some where.

BERNAL HILL, TWIN PEAKS – These are hills where you can bike/run/walk to the top and see the whole city. I lived on Bernal, it has the best view of the city for sure.

JAPAN TOWN – Honestly you should really just walk the streets for a few days, you find amazing places North of Market street. Stay away from the Tenderloin, its a bit dodgy.

MARKET STREET – Shopping, tourist things.

NAPA VALLEY WINE TASTING – Just go, trust me. Also buy loads of corner store wine. The only rules I had when buying were that it had to be a Pinot Noir and no younger that a 2011 and I was never disappointed.

HIGHWAY 1 – Drive it for a few hours and take in the view.

VALENCIA STREET/HAYES VALLEY – Walk the whole thing and stop in anywhere that looks good to eat. You cannot go wrong.

ALCATRAZ – Honestly amazing. Take the recorded tour and afterwards take in the view for a bit.
