Soundscape 03 : Limonada

July 16, 2021 Posted by Soundscape Enterprise™ Articles

Soundscapes is a running catalogue of monthly playlists curated by UWSA collective Soundscape Enterprise™ as an ode to the original Studio Soundtrack series on Bridge.

For this month’s summer playlist we travel to Brazil to find “the sound that seduced the world” – Bossa Nova. This new wave style of samba emerged in the 50s with its soft and sensual tunes becoming recognized worldwide. A sophisticated celebration of romance and pleasure “Soundscape 03: Limonada” is out now  🍋📍🌞

This curated mix encompasses the artistry of traditional bossa, as well as its influential reach in contemporary music. Smooth and refreshing like a cold drink of lemonade, we hope these songs will inspire the soundscape of your warm summer evenings.

Call for collaborators: send us a DM on instagram if you have playlist ideas! 🎧

Kathryn Schwartzkopf will defend her thesis "No Common Ground: Atlas of Resistance and Control during the 2010 Toronto G20 Summit" on Monday January 19th at 6pm in the Lecture Hall. Her work focuses on how crowds moved through and appropriated space in downtown Toronto during the protest demonstrations, examining how the security apparatus reconfigured the space of the city in order to control public movement.
