Nostalgia Tour 2013: Started from the Bomber

Two buses full of architecture students will depart from the “Cambridge Campus” at 6:30 this evening for the yearly pilgrimage back to the mothership, the main University of Waterloo campus, to take advantage of all that university life has to offer.

There have been very few reasons for students to make the 40 minute drive north across the 401 back to Waterloo since Waterloo Architecture made its home in Cambridge in the Fall of 2004: Frosh week, intramural sports, a few electives, and of course the Nostalgia Tour.

The Nostalgia Tour was initiated by students who missed certain staples of campus life at Waterloo in the summer, soon after the school moved. The chance to chill on the Bomber patio after a day at studio, going somewhere other than Walshees on Thursday night, and maybe even seeing some people outside of architecture school were experiences sorely missed. Now, with only a few masters students around who began their architectural education in the Environmental Studies building on main campus in Waterloo, we have reached the point where what we are nostalgic for is the previous years Nostalgia Tour.

And this year’s tour doesn’t look like it will disappoint. Expertly organized, incredibly well attended with two buses worth of $25 tickets sold out, and fantastic weather all bode well for a fantastic evening.
