Epiphyte Chamber in Vogue

February 12, 2014 Posted by Magdalena Miłosz Alumni Work, Faculty Work, Graduate Work, Work

Epiphyte Chamber is the newest installation by UWSA professor Philip Beesley, installed at the new National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) branch in Seoul, Korea with the help of a team of UW graduates and students affiliated with F_RMlab.

The installation was recently featured in a Vogue Korea shoot that showcased the spaces and artwork of the new museum (as well as a flowing Gucci gold wrap dress and other ensembles).

The interactive work “is envisioned as an archipelago of interconnected halo-like masses that mimic human sensations through subtle, coordinated movements.” A video conveys the gentle synergy of the visitor with the “intimate sculptural spaces” of the piece:

Epiphyte Chamber will be on show as part of the inaugural Aleph Exhibition until March 16, 2014.
