Tips From an Elder: RecycleCycles

July 16, 2013 Posted by Danielle Gignac Uncategorized

How do you stop that annoying clicking sound as you pedal fast on your dad’s old bicycle? Yup, you’ll probably need the bearings replaced in the pedal. Yup, the pedals have bearings (who knew?). Nope, you don’t have to spend a fortune on something new.

Look no further than RecycleCycles in Kitchener, a Community Bicycle Resource Centre. Loads of cheap parts for you to sift through (seriously cheap), as well as refurbished bicycles.

THESIS: House(Craft)

Dec 10, 2015

Katherine's thesis explores the opportunities provided by this concept of ownership and mobility. Individual units could become highly tuned to the person(s) occupying them – morphing each unit into an indispensable platform from which users occupy a city. This new concept of home would allow an increasingly mobile population to resituate with ease – finally reconstituting home with our wandering lifestyle. She will defend her thesis on Wednesday December 16th, 2015 at 10 AM in ARC 1001 [Cummings Lecture Theatre].

Future Schools: Mentoring a New Generation of Architecture Students

Future Schools: Mentoring a New Generation of Architecture Students

Jul 21, 2016

Future Schools was an event hosted by Bridge to give a group of local middle school students an introductory taste of the architecture school that resides in their town. Participating in drawing and model-making workshops, the students were encouraged to envision what they thought future schools might look like. Through events like this we connect with our local community, which is an essential part of Bridge's core mission.
