Studio Soundtrack features songs selected by a student at Waterloo Architecture.
I’m Brandon Mooi, you may have seen me at a few parties around here, and when a weekend jam isn’t enough, I extend that same vibe and energy into the rest of the week in my music, so this playlist is aptly named “When house every weekend isn’t enough.”
1. Jax Jones – House Work
This is a classic house track with one of the early people in the house scene, Mike Dunn, on the track. Gold!
2. Childish Gambino – Terrified (Zikomo Remix)
Off of Gambino’s latest album “Awaken, My Love!“, Zikomo pitch bends Terrified and adds Kaytranada-esque sidechained bass to an already amazing track. Banging.
3. POOLCLVB – What you Want (Røse Remix)
Another classic sound from the always consistent Majestic Casual, “What You Want” really hits that nice swinging rhythm and also has that punchy bass to just get lost in.
4. Gorillaz – Andromeda (ZHU Remix)
Brand new album from the British Virtual Band Gorillaz “Humanz” dropped at the end of April and is worth a listen 15 times through if you have the time. Following the release of the album they selected 6 people to do a few remixes, and they selected the talented ZHU that brings a hard hitting and emotional remix of Andromeda.
5. Tear The House Up (Official Music Video) – Hervé x Zebra Katz
Last track here is a special one, for those times you need to just lose your sh*t to some wack sh*t. Zebra Katz, who many have compared to the male version of Azealia Banks, drops “Tear The House Up” which… just listen to it.
Be on the lookout for more bangers soon.
