CALL FOR SUBMISSION / SWAPP – Virtual Talent Exchange

March 21, 2021 Posted by Wendy Yuan Call for Submissions, Community, Event

P is for poetry/prose.

P is for photography.

P is for place/people of memory.

P is for postcards!

With most of our activities limited to indoors lately, there are many places and people we have missed dearly. What is a memory of a place or person that you hold close to your heart? If you could send a postcard to a place or person, where or who would that be? What photograph would you send to them? What poetry/prose would you write to them?

BRIDGE is inviting you to share your memories with us!

In the first stage, BRIDGE is calling for open submissions of poems and photographs that portray that special place/person in your memory. These places/people can be non-fictional or fictional.

And finally, BRIDGE will invite all to participating in the opening night of virtual exhibition on Zoom and Miro, showcasing all inspirations behind participants’ creative form of celebration. You will choose someone else’s place/people of memory to interpret and be inspired by. In reaction, you could write a poem/prose or produce a drawing/photograph(s). Audience is encouraged to join us for a live SWAPP!

All works will be printed in the form of postcard and mailed to participants! They will also be featured on BRIDGE’s Instagram!

Step 1:

Submit a special place/person in your memory in the form of photograph(s) or poetry/prose(s) here! Do not miss the deadline on March 30th, 2021, Tuesday at midnight.

Submission Requirements:

  • Title of Work
  • Description of Memory/Inspiration (no more than 50 words)

Jun 1, 2015

Simeon Rivier's thesis proposes a new design vision for the Cornwall Canal Lands, developing a strategy applicable to all post-industrial communities along the St. Lawrence River border. The project utilizes three very specific frameworks in expanded roles; the existing infrastructure as a network, the post-industrial requirement of environmental regeneration, and interpersonal interactions to re-establish strong waterfront communities.
