Philip Beesley & Iris van Herpen Show at Paris Fashion Week

January 30, 2013 Posted by BRIDGE Faculty Work, Work

Our own Philip Beesley has just completed another collaboration with the incredible fashion designer Iris van Herpen. Iris uses various fabrication methods to develop materials and textures unique even for haute couture. Current students Adam Schwartzentruber and Anne Sewell drew key details, led by Waterloo Architecture grads Andrea Ling, Eric Bury, and Jonathan Tyrrell.

A great video profile of Iris and footage of the show are below.

This week the BRIDGECast hosts get into the topics of non-functional fashion for women and why its meant to be primarily aesthetic, how cursive writing dying off and what that may mean for younger generations, what exactly our fascination with aging is and why we seek immortality and the economics of sleep and how that really plays out in our lives.
