EVENT RECAP/ Art Battle

November 4, 2022 Posted by Dani Grabke Community, Event

On October 31st, BRIDGE hosted the Fall 2022 Art Battle in the Student Loft at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture. After a brief hiatus, Art Battle returns strong for a fun night of Halloween spirit. It presented a great opportunity to connect the student community, showcase art, and introduce architecture student culture to new members of school.

The Loft was transformed into a space of creative and positive energy with a dash of spooky for Halloween night. 11 artists came together to compete in a double-round Art Battle, where incredible displays of ingenuity and raw artistry awed an audience of curious spectators and enthusiastic supporters.

In keeping with BRIDGE’s Inktober theme, artists competed in black-and-white, ink on paper. With two 30-minute rounds, each round featured a surprise topic that the competing artists had to incorporate into their works. At the end of a festive night, two winners, carefully selected by audience vote, emerge from the fray.
