The F_RMlab initiated project PLANETERRAEUM which was exhibited at Nuit Blanche 2014 is soon to be re-installed in the Ontario Science Centre! The team has also compiled a detailed book outlining the conception and process of the entire project.
F_RMlab is running weekly Work Sessions. The next event is on January 23rd at 6PM in 2026. We will be discussing what programs we will be working on this term. Everyone is welcome to attend, don’t forget your computer.
Connor O’Grady will defend his thesis entitled “Liminal Matter: Diffuse, Adaptive Environments for a Future Dundas Square” on Friday January 16th, 2015 at BRIDGE Pop-Up located at 60 Main St. The design explores the capacity for an embedded, public, and adaptive architectural system to expose the liminal, “invisible” relations that affect the collective environment.
Jenny Sabin visited Waterloo Architecture last week to lead a workshop entitled Matrix Architecture: Modeling Biological Reciprocity – A Landscape Takes Shape. The workshop was conducted as a two-day seminar and hands-on lab which explored the potentials of integrating biological phenomena into architecture and design practices.
Once again, students at Waterloo Architecture have contributed intriguing and innovative projects to this years ScotiaBank Nuit Blanche. At its core, Nuit Blanche is a 12-hour event with a mandate to make contemporary art accessible to large audiences, while inspiring dialogue and engaging the public to examine its significance and impact on public space.

Epiphyte Chamber is the newest installation by UWSA professor Philip Beesley, installed at the new National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) branch in Seoul, Korea with the help of a team of UW graduates and students affiliated with F_RMlab.
