BRIDGE Storefront Status

September 26, 2013 Posted by Nikola Miloradovic Uncategorized

BRIDGE Storefront is making headway!

Last Friday’s meeting attracted a group of eager students looking to help out with the initiative. BRIDGE now has more students posting right here on the website, and is gathering a student renovations team ready to help out with whatever they can. Currently the space is encased by a basic lightweight steel stud skeleton. The fire alarm and electrical are partially installed, we are still waiting for the plumbing installation to take place. We’re trying to get more light fixtures in the space as the double-height back area will need the extra lighting.

The gallery extends from Main Street back to the parking lot where our beloved Walshee’s is located. The back double-height area will have room for larger student pieces and possibly installations as well.

If you want to get involved with the space, or if you have ideas of what the space could look like after renovations, email: bridge@waterlooarchitecture.com

We would love to see design concepts, lighting arrangements, signage proposals any ideas! Come out this Thursday October 3rd at 1:00 in the F_RMlab office to discuss the gallery and the website.

BRIDGE was super excited to screen 9 excellent short films in partnership with Grand River Film Festival. The films were selected by Poorna Patange, a student from Waterloo Architecture. Poorna worked with Tamara Louks from GRFF to organize today's event, so here's a shout out to them both!
