Below are a few questions about the election and voting provided by the Graduate Student Association.

1. When is the election?

The actual election day is June 12th, from 9:00am to 9:00pm. However, you can vote at any number of advance polls between Saturday May 31st to Friday, June 6th.

2. Where do I vote?

Before the election, you should receive a Notice of Registration Card that lets you know the location and address of the Advance Poll locations and the Election Day poll locations.

3. What if I did not receive a Notice of Registration Card?

No worries, you can still vote.
Just bring a piece of identification with your name and residential address on it when you come to vote.
Elections Ontario can then add you to the eligible voters roll.

4. What riding do I vote for?

Find out what riding you live in here.
However, as a student you may choose to cast your ballot in the district in which you live during the school year or in the district where you live while not attending school. This means you can vote in the riding where you are now or you can vote for the riding you live in during the school year (Kitchener-Waterloo, etc.)

5. How do I vote for my University district if I’m not living there?

If you wish to vote for a riding, but are living outside of these districts in the summer, you can vote by mail.
You must complete a Special Ballot Application form which can be downloaded from http://www.wemakevotingeasy.ca/media/en/F1000_special_ballot_application.pdf
Then, send the completed form and a copy of one piece of identification with your name and residential address to Elections Ontario by email, fax or mail to Elections Ontario at the appropriate address as listed at http://www.wemakevotingeasy.ca/en/special-ballot-contact-info.aspx.
These special ballot applications must be received at the returning office no later than 6 PM on June 6, 2014.
Once your application has been approved, you will receive a Special Ballot voting kit in the mail.
Your actual ballot must be returned no later than 6 PM on June 12, 2014.
If you have any questions regarding submission of a Special Ballot you can find complete information at http://www.wemakevotingeasy.ca/en/special-ballots.aspx or you can call Elections Ontario at -855-523-5932 or your local returning office.

6. What can I use for my piece of identification?

If your name is on the list of electors (you received a Notice of Registration card) then
a birth certificate,
Ontario Health Card,
Social Insurance Number Card or
an Ontario Driver’s License will work.

If you are not already registered only an Ontario Driver’s License will suffice.
For a complete list of acceptable pieces of identification, whether you are on the voter’s list or not, please click here.

7. How do I vote on Election Day?

You may attend the polling station in your district to vote for your local Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) on
June 12th between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM.
To do this, you must bring a piece of identification that has your name and residential address on it.

8. How do I vote during the Advance Polls?

You may choose to vote in your district at the advance polling stations.
Some advance polls open May 31, close June 6, and are open from 10 AM to 8 PM every day.
Check with your local returning office to determine which advance polling locations are open, and when.

If you will be on campus and want to vote for Kitchener-Waterloo, there will be an advance poll at

the University of Waterloo in the Student Life Centre,
from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 4 and June 5.

THESIS: States of Dependency

THESIS: States of Dependency

Jan 12, 2016

Kyle's thesis 'States of Dependency' is concerned with exploring architectures relationship to socio-political and ethnographic conflict within Jerusalem. Specifically, the work examines the districts of west and east Musrara, sites just to the north of the Old City, and reimagines the civic function of the no-mans land that runs between them. The project works to literally bridge the Israeli western half and the Palestinian eastern half of this area, and explores the educational and civic role that a truly public space may provide in this context. Kyle's defence will take place on Friday January 15th, 2016 at 9 30 AM in ARC 2003.
