Get ready to VOTE!

October 7, 2015 Posted by Sneha Sumanth Articles, Community, Feature

The much awaited Canadian Federal Elections of 2015 is quickly approaching on October 19th. Make sure your voice is heard in this competitive and unpredictable election. Read ahead to get a run down of all the steps you need to take to vote.

As students, we are members of the Cambridge riding. You can get a sneak peak at the goings on in our riding here, and everything you need to know about the federal race here.

The deadline to register to vote is October 13th 2015. You can register to vote online or go in person to 151 Savage Dr #2a, Cambridge, ON N1T 1S6 (map). If you are registered with a riding but unable to be there on election day, you can also register to vote by mail. For any students reading this, the main campus of University of Waterloo is part of an Elections Canada pilot project enabling registration and voting on campus for those who are outside of their riding. Check out times and dates to do so here.

In any case you need to prove your identity to register. Here is the ID required to register.

Advance voting dates are for four days from Friday October 9th to Monday October 12th and polls are open from noon to 8pm.

There are only a couple of weeks left for election day and BRIDGE encourages the community of Cambridge to play our part in this decision. Happy voting!
