BRIDGE was super excited to screen 9 excellent short films in partnership with Grand River Film Festival. The films were selected by Poorna Patange, a student from Waterloo Architecture. Poorna worked with Tamara Louks from GRFF to organize today’s event, so here’s a shout out to them both!
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Grand River Film Festival has partnered with BRIDGE for an exhibition of film related works. Position, an exploration of what it means to be an architect through various media will combine the components of film and design. We will be screening 9 short films from around the world that have been made by an array of architects, students and film makers. The event aims to present architecture through film, attempting to find the role of the architect.
BRIDGE is pleased to be a part of ArtCOP21 Waterloo Region as we celebrate the efforts of the UN Climate Change conference with a global initiative of the arts. This is a Call for Submissions for an art show we will be hosting – Inspired by Change: The People’s Climate Art – opening on November 30th. Submission deadline is November 16th.

Last Thursday’s UWSA Photography Collective Exhibit was an effort to bring to light the often-overlooked talent of the Waterloo Architecture photographers and reconcile this insatiable and school-wide passion. Bianca Weeko Martin illustrates the good vibes of the event at which a diverse variety of methods, mediums and subject matter were on display. Photography discussion was ignited, student work was admired, and everybody had a good time.
Art, Design & Architecture, a documentary film series presented at the Original Princess Cinema in Waterloo, brings thoughtful explorations of the creative industries to a broader public audience starting this Monday.
